We are looking for an experienced and talented developer to add to our team as part of our planned growth for the business in order to accommodate increasing demand from new and existing clients. We have a relaxed and flexible hybrid working environment operating from a former airport control tower a few days per week, and home working the rest.

JavaScript Developer

Full-time, Permanent
Sheffield (hybrid)
£35,000 – £45,000 (dependant on experience, DOE)

The Role

Primarily working on JavaScript projects however you will occasionally be expected to help develop our PHP systems.

It will comprise of working on complex projects, developing bespoke web systems and mobile apps. Time planning and the ability to break projects down into smaller sub-projects covering all aspects of the development lifecycle will be integral. Timescales are usually set by the team members working on them so “deadlines” are set by the team collectively to remove any stress and avoid working out of hours.

Responsibilities:

Developing hybrid and progressive web/mobile applications
Writing efficient, secure and reusable code
Modernising existing codebases in both modern and legacy JS/PHP environments
Work collaboratively with other members of the team
Contributing to all aspects of a development lifecycle
Effective at time/project management
Concise communication with clients

Requirements:

Excellent knowledge of modern JavaScript (ECMAS 2015+)
Excellent knowledge of a JavaScript frameworks such as (Vue or Angular or React)
Great experience with API integration
Great knowledge of jQuery
Great experience of workflow automation (such as webpack, vite or gulp)
Good understanding of PHP is essential
Good knowledge of SQL syntax
Experience in a LAMP environment
Prolific with SASS, CSS3, HTML5

Bonus points for:

Experience developing mobile applications
Knowledge of Docker
Knowledge of Composer
Knowledge of Laravel
Experience with Capacitor/Cordova
Exposure to Test Driven Development
Knowledge of LAMP environments

Qualifications & Experience:

4 years commercial experience minimum

PHP Developer

Full-time, Permanent
Sheffield (Hyrbid)
£24,000 – £35,000 (dependant on experience, DOE)

The Role

Working on creating new features for our modern PHP systems (Laravel projects) and maintaining some of our legacy systems. Training where appropriate will be provided. We have a wealth of experience in-house to help further your personal development and to call upon while in your role.

Responsibilities:

Writing efficient, secure and reusable code
Modernising existing codebases in both modern and legacy PHP frameworks
Work collaboratively with other members of the team
Contributing to all aspects of a development lifecycle
Communicating on a regular basis with our clients

Requirements:

Excellent knowledge of PHP fundamentals
Good knowledge of Laravel is a requirement
Good knowledge of different PHP major versions (7,8)
Good knowledge of JavaScript is a fundamental
Good knowledge of SQL syntax
Comfortable with version control
Effective at time/project management
Experience in a LAMP environment
Knowledge of Composer
Comfortable with SASS, CSS3, HTML5

Bonus points for:

Knowledge of Docker
Experience with jQuery
